Job Description

This position is responsible for the set-up and operation of production equipment to cost effectively produce high-quality product on a timely basis which meets customer requirements. Duties include scheduling, training, implementing improvements and serving as liaison to the area supervisor at all times.

• Producing a product that meets internal and external customer demands.
• Train associates on equipment as required.
• Startup/shut down, loads/unloads, and operates finishing equipment.
• Adjusts chemistry of process solutions to maintain process quality and consistency.
• Operates and maintains all waste treatment/waste processing equipment.
• Maintains a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and finishing process flow and associated documentation.
• Adheres to established environmental, health and safety practices.
• Responsible for housekeeping in work area.
• Assists in the determination of production schedule, supply needs, and manufacturing operations.
• Monitor manufacturing methods, processes and procedures to assure meeting departmental goals.
• Assist with routine administrative tasks and department back-up functions.
• Continually monitors safety procedures to assure a clean, safe work environment.
• Communicates effectively within the team and with support departments
• Effectively leads a team of 10 or more co-workers in day-to-day work operations and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
• Regularly provides feedback in their area of responsibility to appropriate management

Qualifications

• Work experience in plating processes. 2+ years direct experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effective with all levels of employees.
• Able to operate systems to assure product meets engineering specifications in all areas of finishing.
• Able to read/write/understand English alpha-numeric characters.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Able to safely operate a walk-around lift, overhead hoist, power loader and hand tools.
• Able to maintain process control charts for processing equipment, either manually or on computer.
• Able to learn and perform basic chemical laboratory techniques.
• Must have excellent problem solving skills, and able to troubleshoot process problems.
• Must be safety and environmentally conscientious.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to learn, comprehend and interpret symbols, dimensioning, tolerance concepts in blueprints.
• Ability to follow proper sequences or procedures from routing documents.
• Knowledge of metal types by characteristics, markings, and uses.
• Ability to identify scaled v. smooth surfaces, corrosion properties, and color distinctions.
• Ability to repetitively (using safe manual lifting procedure) lift 33 lbs. of material from ground up to waist high levels and load onto machinery.
• Knowledge of conversion systems involving metric, U.S. standard and other measuring standards.
• Ability to adjust machines according to desired tolerances.
• Working ability with continuous improvement.

Physical Demand: Qualified individual should be able to repetitively (using safe manual lifting procedures) lift 33 lbs. of material from the ground up to waist-high levels and load onto machinery and be able to perform repetitive motion tasks; must have manual dexterity and vision necessary to operate required tools and machines safe.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $25.00 - $32.50. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
