The lead assists Value Stream leadership with daily activities to ensure that the plant is meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. The Lead communicates daily, weekly, and monthly requirements and expectations within the facility. The Lead will be involved in most operational aspects of running the shift they are assigned to. They will provide valuable feedback to Team Members on their shift regarding daily expectations, and to Supervisors and Managers regarding performance of the work stream and the progress of employees within the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Performs Hose Fabrication job functions as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the plant  Performs tasks assigned for efficient start-up and shutdown of each shift  Responds to and resolves quality and technical questions  Communicates order status between customer service and production to ensure customer needs are met  Communicates safety, quality, and productivity expectations  Conducts in-process inspections; ensures scrap and rework processes are followed  Communicates and solves workflow problems, equipment and staffing needs  Works with purchasing to ensure the availability supply items  Leads and directs HPTs and problem-solving efforts in partnership with Leadership  Ensures training, standard work and daily productivity documentation is current  Responsible for DxH checks and overall shift expectations  Occasional travel required for training and/or best practice sharing  May be required to work on opposite shift at times to ensure that customer requirements are met  Attendance and punctuality are required; overtime as deemed necessary  Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS:  Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required  Demonstrated knowledge of Lean (5S & Standard work), Single piece flow, set up processes, and operator efficiency processes.  Prefer some manufacturing/assembly experience  Able to effectively communicate with other operators  Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills  Strong problem-solving skills  Basic computer skills, reading and writing knowledge  Basic understanding of shop math and measuring skills, including the ability to convert fractions and decimals  Support and commitment to Parker’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.  Ability to lift to 35 pounds regularly.  Ability to exert 25-80 pounds of force occasionally and/or exert 10-25 pounds of force frequently to move objects.  Near acuity required for reading machine equipment, gages, prints and precision measuring instruments.
