While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection is required.Work hours – 5 days, 8 hours a day, with overtime to meet the demands of the job. Including weekends as needed.

Under the direction of the Department Supervisor/Manager, is responsible for assisting in the directing of activities of all assigned employees to ensure the efficient and productive performance of the department. Ensures and promotes a safe working environment that meets the daily production goals in Quality, Output, and On-Time delivery.
Train new employees on tool room / machine building machines, LTV (Lock, Tag, and Verify), Human performance and 5s.Run Tool room type machines, knowledgeable in design & manufacturing of custom automated assembly machines, tappers, and presses, minimum of 10 years’ experience.Supports department supervisor/manager in meeting the product line goals & objectivesAssists in directing assigned areas in manufacturing, processing, or support areas to meet customer quality, output and on-time delivery.May prepare daily production reports and may attend daily production meeting.Assists department supervisor/manager in the daily production and quality goals and ensures that these goals are achieved for the assigned areasMay complete timekeeping requirements for assigned hourly employees and have supervisor/manager approveAssists in scheduling employee shifts, may approves overtime, vacations and other personnel administrative requests with supervisor/manager approvalEnsures employees are taking all breaks and lunches within the required time periodAssists in planning of short- and long-term department requirementsInterfaces with other departments to ensure goals and deadlines are accomplishedWalks shop floor to ensure all employees are maintaining productivity standardsEmployee relations: in conjunction with the department supervisor/manager, promoting teamwork, coaching and counseling employeesEnsures employees are in compliance with all company policies and proceduresCoaches' employees in their continuous improvement effortsMaintains procedures for shop floor housekeeping and 5S implementationPromotes ABS where applicableCultivates leadership on the production floor by encouraging problem solvingWorks in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environmentAssists in implementing department training plansPerforms other tasks of equal or lesser skill as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities
The Team Lead is instrumental in assisting the Supervisor with overseeing employees; however this position is not directly responsible for the performance of the employees in the area. Carries out goals and supervisory functions in accordance with the direction of the Supervisor and the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Performs all other assignments, projects and duties as assigned.
