Production Support Engineer
Job Description Day to Day: Insight Global is seeking a Production Support Engineers to join one of our largest financial clients in New York City supporting the Markets APS FX & LCT Team. Having previous support experience on a Foreign Exchange or Emerging Markets trade desk is highly desired for this role. The suite of applications supported in this space cover many different functional aspects of the business, including pricing and trade capture, risk generation and aggregation, market and reference data. The role will give the successful candidate exposure to the full front-to-back process from trade inception to feeding risk downstream. On a day-to-day basis, individuals will be intaking service requests from Front Office and Traders servicing their suite of applications. They will be responsible for the monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments, performing application health checks to assure system availability and stability, user querying and production incident handling, triage, and hands-on trouble-shooting of Python based applications. They will resolve any performance issues per criticality, capacity management and production release process management. All of these processes should be properly documented and communicated effectively. Ideally, this person is proactive in their identification and resolution of problem hotspots and has the creativity and high-energy required to effectively coordinate restoration efforts for this high-impact space. Skills and Requirements Must Haves: - 5+ years of experience providing Production/Application support specifically in a Trader Floor/Trader Facing Space - SQL experience- query a database - mix off from scratch and a run book - Work experience in a Linux/Unix environment - Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or ITRS - Proficiency in Ticketing systems (ideally Remedy or ServiceNow) - Business knowledge in FX, LCT (Local Currency Trading), Emerging Markets, Fixed Income, Swaps, Equities, and/or Trading techniques - Incident Mgnt Experience (ITIL) -being able to manage an incident from first sign through to resolution and follow up - Clear communication- self-motivated and able to work independently, with high urgency Plusses: - Previous Bank of America experience – ideally in Global Markets Space - Experience with Python based applications - ITRS Geneos Enterprise monitoring experience - Experience scripting with Shell and Python for automation and scripting tasks (Intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, being able to read code not write it, etc...) -Experience with Autosys for batch management
