Job Description SummaryPerform the daily operations of plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production lines. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for execution per instructions and routines. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Manage 3rd shift operations at the Schenectady Cores and Castings facility to reach defined targets in safety, quality, delivery and cost. Drive continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Execution of daily work to manage delivery.Broadening working knowledge in a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical skills to resolve problems.Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. Communicates with direct team and supervisor.A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills. Provides informal guidance to new team members

 
Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role (manufacturing or similar industry preferred) OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, 2 of which are/were in a supervisory role OR Military Training.

Eligibility Requirements

Ability and willingness to work the Off-Shift- 3rd Shift (11pm-7am).Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.
 

Desired Characteristics

Experience in a technical discipline or hands on technical experience.Experience with union environment.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this position is $74,800 - $93,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 5% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity and 10% shift differential.​

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
