Join Smurfit Westrock as a Production Supervisor on Third Shift with opportunities to advance and learn alongside accomplished leaders in the industry. As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of converting production. In this role you will communicate performance expectations to shift workers, ensure production targets and metrics are met to achieve production demands, supervise machine productivity and quality, and manage personnel daily. You will work in a collaborative work environment and coordinate production operations and maintain effective quality procedures and safety regulations. You will be trained, mentored, and developed to succeed and further your career.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift and ensure that all company standards and customer commitments (safety, quality, production, cost, on-time delivery) are metBe a champion for change, drive results to bring the facility from Good to GreatSupervise daily production activities, including oversight of team members, and monitor performance levels of each team memberLead and coach employees to meet the safety, quality, production, and all other key performance indicators of a fast-paced work teamEnforce plant safety regulations and encourage employees to become safety consciousBuild relationships with internal departments to produce a superior product, resulting in happy customersHelp build a world-class team, training your successor as you advance your WestRock careerEnsure all company safety policies and safe work practices are followed to ensure safety of self and othersMonitor and participate in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals and enable performance excellence Sustain productivity levels by properly staffing line production and equipment to meet customer demands and align any last-minute scheduling changesEnsure SQF/food packaging safety compliance

 

What you need to succeed:

 

2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to be an on-shift resource for printing troubleshooting problems is highly desiredKnowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery; printing is a plusStrong focus on Safety and QualityExperience in leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM)High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree is preferredProficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word; ability to learn new software applicationsBilingual (Spanish) is a plusProven successful track record in managing, motivating and building teams

The salary range for this position is $74,625.00 - $124,375.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
