Production Supervisor (Bogie Assembly) 2nd Shift

Position Overview:

Join Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock as the 2nd Shift Supervisor for Bogie Assembly. In this role, you will lead a production team focused primarily on bogie assembly for transit customers across North America. You will have full functional and disciplinary responsibility for the assembly team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Additionally, you will provide functional leadership support for bogie machining and weld areas only when support is needed, offering guidance and oversight as required.

What your day may look like:

Manage, coach, and develop a team of up to 30-40 workers in bogie assembly on 2nd shift.Conduct bi-annual employee performance reviews; plan, monitor, and document training and development.Promote an ownership culture and ensure every employee takes personal responsibility for success.Facilitate positive communication and keep the team informed of work status, performance, and process changes.Plan and execute bogie assembly operations, define workflow, and establish priorities to meet project and interdepartmental requirements.Track and manage production performance; identify constraints and implement effective countermeasures.Ensure production vehicles are ready for inspections and shipping deadlines.Provide functional leadership and support for bogie machining and weld teams only when required.Offer technical guidance and help resolve issues in machining and weld areas as needed.Drive continuous improvement initiatives from team ideas.Identify root causes of defects and implement measures for defect reduction.Collaborate with other supervisors and support functions (Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, Procurement) to solve problems and improve outcomes.Commit to Zero Harm for the health and safety of all employees.Ensure compliance with safety protocols, PPE, and company policies.

What will make you successful in this role:

Minimum 5 years of production supervision experience in manufacturing.Experience implementing changes to improve safety, quality, schedule, and cost.Effective coaching, leadership, communication, and team-building skills for an hourly workforce.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and evaluate parts against specifications.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; SAP experience preferred.Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes for mechanical and electrical assembly.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.Rail/Rolling Stock manufacturing experience is a plus.

This position in located in Sacramento, CA. The salary range for this position is $98,300-$132,700 plus an annual incentive target of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
