Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved. This role supervises frontline production employees, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with company policies, standard work, and regulatory requirements. The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in building a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, communication, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Shift Hours Monday - Friday 6:00 - 2:30 pm; Occasional Saturdays
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day production activities to meet output, quality, and schedule targets.Lead and support hourly production employees, including coaching, training, and performance management.Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety, compliance, and housekeeping across the production floor.Monitor staffing, workflow, and equipment utilization to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications, quality standards, and operating procedures.Coordinate with maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.Review production metrics and identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.Conduct shift meetings and communicate priorities, performance expectations, and operational updates.Support employee engagement, conflict resolution, and a positive team environment.Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, and shift documentation.Assist with implementing process improvements, new procedures, and operational changes.Ensure proper training and onboarding of new team members.Support audits, compliance requirements, and adherence to workplace policies.Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.3+ years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety practices, and quality standards.Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment.Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with production systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or continuous improvement methods.Familiarity with ERP, MES, or other production tracking systems.Experience with KPI management, labor planning, and root cause analysis.Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.Core Competencies
