The Production Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing daily operations in truss production, including saw operation and assembly. This role ensures production teams meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards while adhering to schedules. The Supervisor works closely with plant leadership and production staff to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction OversightSupervise and support saw operators and truss assemblers to ensure timely, high-quality job completionInterpret shop orders and truss design prints to assign tasks effectivelyMonitor material usage and report shortages or quality concernsEnsure proper setup and operation of saws and assembly stationsAssist with troubleshooting and minor equipment maintenancePerform production tasks as needed, including saw operation and truss assemblyTeam LeadershipLead by example with professionalism, strong work ethic, and attention to detailTrain and mentor new and existing employees on procedures, safety protocols, and efficiency practicesMotivate team members to meet productivity and quality goalsResolve minor disputes or issues during production shiftsProvide feedback to supervisors on employee performance, attendance, and training needsSafety & CompliancePromote and enforce safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Monitor compliance with company policies and quality control standardsAssist with facility upkeep, including cleaning, organization, and seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removalReporting & CommunicationTrack and report job progress, production issues, and crew performanceCommunicate clearly with supervisors regarding workflow, staffing, and production concernsSkills & QualificationsTop SkillsProduction oversightLeadership and supervisionManufacturing processesQuality assuranceGeneral labor and operationsRequired Experience & Skills1–2 years of experience in a truss plant or similar manufacturing environmentProficient in reading and interpreting truss drawings and technical printsStrong knowledge of materials, saw operation, and truss assembly processesDemonstrated ability to lead and manage small teamsExcellent communication and organizational skillsProficient in measuring and basic mathAbility to operate and train others on saws, nail guns, staplers, presses, forklifts, and other shop equipmentCapable of performing moderately strenuous manual labor for extended periods (up to 10 hours/day)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
