PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
**Description** ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 1. Effectively manages assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance. 1. Leads through effective goal setting, communication, and coaching. 2. Assists with personnel decisions including hiring, corrective actions, terminations, wage decision, and promotions. 3. Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach. 4. Expert knowledge for all positions on assigned production line(s). 5. Maintains an open dialogue with assigned team. 6. Resolves problems in a direct and positive way when approached with feedback and concerns. 2. Monitors and supervises all aspects of assigned production line(s). 1. Supervisors assigned personnel ensuring work standards are implemented and followed. 1. Ensures lead associates properly use personnel team and follow work standards to product a defect-free product. 2. Ensures work teams are fully staffed to maintain targeted workflow. 3. Ensures lead associates provide work teams the tools and supplies needed to accomplish standard work. 4. Makes sure all production change-overs are performed properly and efficiently. 3. Ensures preventative maintenance is performed on machines, that work teams are operating machines properly and safely, and that equipment is stored properly. Communicates to the maintenance team problems with machines. 4. Assists in production scheduling to improve production leveling. 5. Ensures area of responsibility has been properly cleaned and sanitized. 6. Assures compliance with all company safety rules and GMP’s. 1. Has expert knowledge of all safety rules and monitors personnel to ensure compliance. 2. Ensures personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used correctly. 3. Ensures areas are clear of safety hazards, floors are free of product, and equipment is free of excess product. 7. Assumes responsibility for production quality and continuous improvement. 1. Ensures products are produced to customer specification and defect free. 2. Ensures work teams follow standard work practices to promote improved product efficiency and achieve production targets. 3. Ensures employees are properly trained on standard work practices and perform job tasks as defined. 4. Ensures production flow is consistent, throughput is monitored, and efficiency targets are met. 5. Ensures trainers train on proper work standards, maintain all proper documentation and Quality personnel are in their assigned areas monitoring product for defects. 6. Ensures transfer of finished product from production floor to storage area is performed within standard operating procedure. 8. Assumes responsibility for production related communication flow and coordination between line workers. 1. Communicates problems with Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager, and Plant Manager as needed. 2. Takes a leading role in communicating among per groups and subordinates. 9. Ensures all administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately. 1. Verifies demand schedule and usage sheets are all filled out. 2. Completes and verifies all activity logs are completed. 3. Ensures all documentation is routed correctly. 10. Compliance 1. Maintain and enforce GMP practices, safety, and product quality standards. 2. Follow safety guidelines as well as adhere to related listing in the Employee Handbook. 3. Prepare information and assist in various certification/customer audits. 4. Enforce safety regulations with all production employees. 5. Ensure team members take scheduled breaks and lunches, and finish shifts on time. 11. Assumes other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ACTIVITES: Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently HEARING: Must be able to hear average or normal conversation and receive ordinary information. REPETITIVE MOTION: Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and/or fingers. VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery. PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day. WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently around 34 degrees, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their workday.
