The Contribution You’ll Bring to this Role

The person hired as Production Supervisor will lead 2nd shift manufacturing operations. They are responsible for ensuring safety, quality, service, efficiency, and employee engagement. This role supports growing supervisory coverage for 24/7 shifts, including weekends. Here, you will make an impact by:

Ensuring a safe working environment through modeling safe behaviors, leading audits/inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, leading crew meetings, and applying accurate work methods, procedures, and equipment.

Providing supervision and support to production and warehouse hourly employees and ensuring accuracy in production reporting and time reporting for payroll.

Working and communicating cross-functionally with site support teams (EHS, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Production Planning) to meet production schedules and implement improvements.

Handling shift administrative activities such as training, time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, training, etc.

Planning daily work schedules, prioritizing, allocating work assignments, and monitoring production processes to meet specific daily production requirements for customer deliveries.

Implement process improvements through Practical Process Improvement (PPI), Lean, and other methodologies while maintaining strict adherence to GMP, ISO, and safety standards.

Your Skills and Expertise

To position you for success in this role right from day one, Thermo Fisher requires candidates to have the following qualifications:

Minimum Education required: HS Diploma/GED. Bachelor's degree or higher education preferred  

One year of experience in a manufacturing setting within private, public, government, or military sectors

One year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Further qualifications that can support your achievement even more in this role consist of:

Expertise equivalent to that which would be acquired in a bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering field (preferred)

Extensive leadership background in a manufacturing environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Tools

Experience in medical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing (cGMP, ISO 13485)

Ability to drive and inspire change and lead cross-functional teams

Training and/or experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies

Experience working with hazardous materials

Experience leading cross-functional teams

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $79,100.00–$118,700.00.
