Job Description

Effectively motivate and manage workforce.  Follow all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures as directed; first step responsibility for grievance solution to resolve at lowest level.

Ensure shipments are properly identified, changeovers are performed per schedule, and all quality procedures are followed.

Ensure all SPC charts and First Inspection sheets are completed properly each day and that production documentation (counts, scrap, downtime, etc.) is correct.  Communicate issues of quality, machine downtime and cost to others.

Implement and enforce Lean Principles and Value Stream Management processes: standard work, material flow and operator motion improvements.

Responsible for the quality, delivery and cost of parts manufactured during shift; support / initiate continuous improvement projects; coordinate disposition of materials and housekeeping / organization of department; clean and maintain work area and equipment.

Responsible for workforce assignments and the training and certification of operators.

Support IATF-16949 as required and meet department objectives.

Lead projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost of manufacturing processes.

Investigate and solve manufacturing process problems.

Must be able to work daily and weekend overtime

Qualifications

Associates degree (college or technical school) is preferred,  plus 2-5 year supervisory experience.

Strong leadership skills (leading groups and delegating tasks) and technical background.

Demonstrates discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies and procedures.

Effective problem solving skills and good communication skills.

Must be flexible (welcome and adapt to change).

Good understanding of effective use of manufacturing personnel and equipment.

Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Must have demonstrated a high level of teamwork, initiative and involvement in previous work assignments.
