Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
This position is a function member of the Ink Lead Team and reports to the Complex Ink Manager. The Production Superintendent is responsible for leading all aspects of the manufacturing operations at Beaverton, Cerritos, and Sanger. (i.e. Safety, Scheduling, Production, Shipping / Receiving, Inventory Management, Housekeeping, Facility and Preventative Maintenance, Directing Hourly Employees, Reporting and additional items as directed)
Directs Safe operations of the Beaverton Bulk and Blend production crews and Cerritos and Sanger Blend operations. Facilitate task teams to implement plant initiatives and reduce gaps in safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, waste, etc.
Ensures:
All orders are prepared for shipment. Supervise shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished products. Productivity goals are met by establishing clear goals, providing requisite resources to direct reports. Equipment is properly maintenance. Engagement is achieved by providing leadership. This includes listening and responding to employee issues, taking decisive actions, recognizing excellent performance and holding employees accountable for undesired behaviors. Effective communication both up and down the organization on key issues (e.g. crew meetings, performance 1-on-1’s, overtime plans, monthly business results, etc.) Manage the Cerritos and Sanger Blend site supervisors Ability to travel roughly 20%.

Candidate must be a proven leader, goal oriented, self-starter, good communicator and computer literate. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Candidate must have a firm understanding of driving safety culture, adhering to corporate and human resources policy. Candidate must also demonstrate a sincere interest and desire to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Prior knowledge within the Printing Ink industry is preferred and Color Theory knowledge is a plus! An understanding of Continuous Improvement and 5S are also desired.
