What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health

Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Production Operation operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:00am (overtime per business needs)

Job Summary

The Specialist, Production Operations contributes to the efficiency of production by developing production schedules and executing production best practices. This job communicates production schedules and issues to internal stakeholders and to Cardinal Health customers to ensure that product commitments are achieved and that customer needs are fulfilled. The Specialist works under the supervision of an Operations Manager and provides specialized support to operators in the production environment.

Responsibilities

Drafts master production schedules to ensure that product commitments to customers are fulfilled based on customer orders and existing inventory. Accounts for a variety of variables in creation of the schedule, including operational changes, production issues, and changes in customer needs and orders.Translates draft production schedules into a material requirements planning (MRP) system in order to produce full production schedules and to coordinate scheduling across various products in the facility.Conducts regular report-outs and meetings with Cardinal Health customers regarding production timelines and product orders. Understands customer needs and makes necessary changes to production schedules, communicating those adjustments to operator teams.Meets regularly with internal stakeholders, including commercial and manufacturing departments, regarding production scheduling, efficiency, and issues. Develops reports on production metrics as requested by Operations Manager or other stakeholders.Coordinates with labeling and tooling vendors to ensure that materials arrive to the facility on time, reducing delays and ensuring that production continues to operate “just-in-time” for customers.Escalates significant issues related to production scheduling or vendors to the Operations Manager and Operations Director. Assists in determining production adjustments to fulfill client commitments and, when internal resolutions are not sufficient, discusses issues and delays with customers.

Anticipated hourly range: $26.20 - $37.40 per hour based on experience (includes shift differential)
