About the Role
This is a 12 month role to start in September 2025. The Production Planning Co-op holds a key responsibility for maintaining Work Order (WO) Date Integrity, ensuring timely production by analyzing Material Availability reports, opening, releasing, and closing manufacturing Work Orders. They collaborate with Inventory Control and Purchasing to address material requirements and component shortages, negotiate recovery dates with Production Supervisors, and provide critical information to the Master Scheduler. This role demands strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to create and maintain reports for Key Performance Indicators in Production Planning and Scheduling. The Co-op actively supports Continuous Improvement initiatives and is proficient in data analysis within a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Work Order & Production SchedulingMaintain Work Order (WO) date integrity, adjusting in the system based on MRP suggestions and shortage situationsAnalyze Material Availability reports and take action to ensure WOs start on timeOpen, release and close manufacturing Work Orders while ensuring data accuracyReview and execute planning responsibilities for Kanban processesInventory & Material CoordinationCollaborate with the Inventory Control Group (stockroom) on material requirements kitting, POU replenishment and material movementCommunicate with Purchasing to provide visibility on component shortages for upcoming WOsMonitor Point-of-Use inventory accuracy, proactively investigating and resolving discrepanciesSupport and complete monthly cycle counts and annual WIP countsCross-Functional Communication & ReportingCoordinate and negotiate schedule recovery dates with Production Supervisors to maintain on-time Work Order completionProvide critical updates to the Master Scheduler on delays impacting customer order completionGenerate weekly reports on WO completion rates for assigned work centersMonitor workflow between production cells and other departments, ensuring seamless operationsContribute scheduling insights to daily Operations Status meetingsContinuous Improvement & Process OptimizationSupport Continuous Improvement (CI) and Kaizen initiatives to enhance operations efficiencyProvide weekly metrics related to on-time WO completions along with root causeAnalyze production data and Team Key Results (TKRs) to improve planning accuracyAssist the work center supervisor with capacity planning for assigned work orders and feedback information to the Master Schedulers for consistent improvement in factory schedulingRequired Qualifications & Skills
