Production Planner
Position Summary

The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining the production schedule to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures materials, resources, and capacity are aligned with customer demand and internal production goals. The Planner/Scheduler works closely with production, purchasing, warehouse, engineering, and quality teams to ensure accurate planning and timely execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, maintain, and adjust the master production schedule based on customer orders, forecasts, material availability, and capacity constraints.Review ERP/MRP planning signals, coordinate required actions, and update schedules to support on‑time delivery.Monitor work orders throughout the production cycle, ensuring accurate start/end dates, labor reporting, and material consumption.Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure raw material and component availability aligns with production needs.Coordinate with Production Supervisors and leads to communicate daily/weekly priorities and address capacity or resource constraints.Analyze inventory levels, safety stock, and consumption rates to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock.Prepare and distribute scheduling reports, KPIs, and planning metrics to leadership.Adjust schedules proactively in response to equipment downtime, quality issues, or customer requirement changes.Participate in cross‑functional planning meetings and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate data in the ERP system, including lead times, lot sizes, planning parameters, and routings.Support continuous improvement efforts related to scheduling, workflow optimization, and inventory accuracy.Required Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials coordination (manufacturing preferred).Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or similar).Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Detail‑oriented with exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.Ability to manage competing priorities and adjust plans quickly.Understanding of basic supply chain, inventory, and production‑flow principles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr.
