Production Planner and Scheduling Manager
Job Description:
The Manufacturing and Scheduling Manager schedules and coordinates the flow of work within the manufacturing plant to expedite production. This position reports to the VP of Operations and works closely with all members of the team.
Responsibilities:
Own and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer delivery, labor capacity, and material constraintsProvide daily, hands-on leadership to hourly manufacturing employees, including work assignments, coaching, and accountabilityConduct daily production meetings and communicate priorities, expectations, and schedule changes clearly to the teamMonitor labor efficiency, attendance, and throughput; take corrective action when performance does not meet expectationsCoordinate with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Engineering to resolve production constraints and prioritiesDevelop, document, and maintain clear manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure repeatable, high-quality outputEstablish and enforce in-process and final Quality Control checks to ensure products meet company standards the first timeInvestigate quality issues and production inefficiencies using root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsLead and execute manufacturing improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivityEnsure accurate and timely work order execution within the ERP systemMaintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environmentOwn the manufacturing and scheduling components of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, capacity, inventory, and executionServe as the primary manufacturing communication point to peer departments, ensuring timely, clear, and accurate communication regarding capacity, schedules, constraints, and execution risksSkills & Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with direct responsibility for production scheduling and floor executionDemonstrated experience supervising and leading hourly manufacturing employeesHands-on experience creating, implementing, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Experience owning or heavily contributing to quality control processes and defect reduction effortsProven ability to execute manufacturing improvements related to productivity, labor efficiency, quality, or deliveryComfortable working in an ERP/MRP environment and partnering in system implementation or optimizationBachelor's degree in engineering or business Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Oswego, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.27 - $45.67/hr.
