The Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules to ensure company goals are achieved and deadlines are met.
Essential Duties:Evaluate part needs for the shop floor and generate appropriate work orders for release to production.
Analyze materials required for work orders.
Gather and process completed work orders from production operators.
Examine variances on completed work orders, research issues, and work to resolve them.
Issue and return resources via specifications and work orders for non-standard raw materials.
Serve as a customer service liaison for lead times and work order status.
Review open order sales reports and adjust based on sales demands.
Determine optimization for spooling to meet customer and production requirements.
Develop, maintain, and distribute planning documents, records, and reports.
Attend and participate in regular production meetings (e.g., scrap and variance meetings).
Maintain compliance with all Marmon IEI Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Support and participate in Lean/5S and process improvement initiatives.
Support activities in compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.
Collaborate with peers, managers, and Marmon IEI employees.
Perform other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.
Education & Experience (Preferred):Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
3–5 years of production planning office experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skills (Preferred):
Ability to read and interpret production reports.
Proficiency in basic arithmetic, statistics, and applicable mathematical applications.
Strong ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
Solid knowledge of Microsoft applications and applicable production systems.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and troubleshoot effectively.
Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position (sitting, talking, reviewing computer data, charts, and graphs, and performing repetitive motions).
Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
Ability to briefly work in warm and noisy environments while on the production floor.
Ability to move objects and materials weighing at least 25 lbs.
