Production Planner

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of two years Production Planning experience in a manufacturing environment; however, will consider a recent college graduate with a degree in Logistics or Supply Chain or other related field Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain / Logistics or related field from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior manufacturing experience APICS CPIM/CSCP certification Knowledge of program languages such as Visual Basic and Python

The Production Planner is responsible for providing an interface between customers and in-house personnel, this involves scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the expedient flow of parts through the manufacturing processes to satisfy the customers’ delivery requirements and maintaining customer relationships with key accounts by communicating these schedules.   

Job Responsibilities:

Follow Safety Regulations along with all department specific safety requirements Communicates with customers concerning requirements, talks with them regarding other customer service-related concerns, and answers any other questions.  Approximately 35% of available time is spent maintaining customer contacts Acts as liaison between customers, suppliers, and manufacturing and support teams.  Communicates customers’ requirements and concerns.  Acts as the customer intermediary to ensure that specifications are met, and delivery is timely.  Engages in these activities about 25% of the time Maintains lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects Monitors throughput and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepares production reports and customer delivery schedules for assigned accounts Provides schedule/forecast information to purchasing to ensure required materials, tools and equipment are in place Updates information on computer for perpetual inventory system Supports both short- and long-term capacity analysis Works closely with Sales Department for maintenance of customer demand in Oracle system Other duties as assigned

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Aptitude to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  Knowledgeable in mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Demonstrated requisite skills and abilities in basic computer operation.  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Working knowledge of synchronous manufacturing required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Excellent communication skills (presentations, verbal and written) Highly knowledgeable with production planning concepts such as MRP, MRP II, ATP, CTP  Exceptional analytical and conceptional thinking skills High level of competency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
