**Job Title: 2ND SHIFT Production Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Machine Operator in our machine shop, you will perform essential heat treating operations by subjecting metal parts to processes such as annealing. You will be responsible for arranging materials on tables for manual feeding and ensuring optimal heat distribution during the process.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set thermal couples and prepare loads for optimal heat distribution under guidance.
+ Load batch loads to ensure optimum productivity.
+ Set up and operate heat treat ovens.
+ Ensure quality by observing the condition and position of materials during the process.
+ Start and shut down furnaces by setting controls, valves, and lighting pilots and burners.
+ Ensure accuracy and uniformity in heat treat processes.
+ Prepare parts for loading into the furnace, including wiping and final cleaning as required.
+ Report any unusual conditions in operations, equipment, or materials to the supervisor.
+ Understand and adhere to company procedures and work instructions.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
+ Ability to take hardness measurements and document results.
+ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
+ High attention to detail.
+ Basic knowledge and interpretation of technical drawings.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Blueprint reading.
+ Machine operating.
+ Experience with manual grinders.
+ Familiarity with machining and programming.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
