Production Manager-Wheatfield
Are you a dynamic and experienced leader with a passion for manufacturing? We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team at our Wheatfield location. As a key member of the plant management team, you will be responsible for planning and managing efficient production activities across various departments. Your role will involve ensuring employee safety, maintaining quality performance, achieving customer and company schedules, and optimizing productivity and cost-effectiveness. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:** + **Lead Department Activities:** Direct department activities to support the achievement of plant performance metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Costs. Establish direction, department objectives, and provide leadership for quality standards, production efficiency, continuous improvement, safety standards, training needs, cost reduction, and employee motivation. + **Ensure Employee Safety:** Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and practices. Develop, promote, and enforce an uncompromising safety attitude in both supervision and employees. + **Planning and Goal Setting:** Develop and achieve operational plans, goals, budgets, and capital requirements. Measure success by shipment on-time performance, direct labor productivity, and world-class quality levels. + **Team Environment:** Foster a respectful team environment, train and motivate employees, and ensure policies are followed. Develop and implement ongoing skills assessment and training efforts. + **Effective Planning:** Establish and maintain effective planning techniques to provide excellent delivery performance to the customer. Control and schedule plant production operations to meet customer delivery requirements and financial goals. + **Production Entries and Inventory Records:** Ensure accurate accounting of manufactured goods. Direct and manage material inventory to ensure maximum utilization of assets within divisional financial objectives. + **Review Production Processes:** Continuously improve operations using methodologies like WCM. Work within the ISO9001 system to maintain all necessary records, communications, SOPs, and work instructions for manufacturing. Display a personal and professional commitment to the continuous improvement process. Review production processes and procedures to ensure efficient operations performance. **OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES** + Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed and/or requested + Collaborates with other functions and participates in projects as needed **QUALIFICATIONS** + **Education:** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline required; Master's Degree preferred. + **Experience:** 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in engineering or production planning/management, with proven supervisory experience. + **Leadership:** Ability to directly and indirectly influence and manage and motivate others and develop effective teams. Demonstrated leadership through integrity, knowledge, and personal example. + **Knowledge:** Strong knowledge of machine systems, best manufacturing practices, lean manufacturing concepts, 5S, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies. + **Skills:** Strong process optimization and problem-solving skills, high level of interpersonal skills, strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook), and prior experience with an ERP system. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $110,000-TTC to $160,000-TTC. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
