Job Title: Production Manager

Job Description

The Production Manager oversees the activities of production personnel involved in all aspects of the manufacturing function. The role involves communicating job expectations, planning and monitoring work, appraising job results, coaching and counseling, and enforcing policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include meeting production schedules by establishing priorities, allocating staff, and revising schedules as necessary. The role also focuses on quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Perform all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable employment laws.Implement appropriate discipline per the collective bargaining agreement and company guidelines, recommending termination of employment when necessary.Respond to work-related issues and emergencies in a timely manner, regardless of the time of day.Orient and train employees effectively.Maintain workflow by reassigning work, facilitating corrective actions, and fostering cooperation between departments.Complete production schedules by assigning employees, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems.Maintain and approve work records using the automated time & attendance system for attendance and payroll applications.Ensure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of PPE, tools, equipment, and resources.Maintain a working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.Enforce organization standards to maintain quality service.Ensure the operation of equipment and tools by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques, and requisitioning new tools and equipment.Provide manufacturing information by compiling production performance records and data.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment3+ years of supervisory experience; experience in a union environment is a plus.Experience managing employees in electro/mechanical product assemblyDemonstrated participation in lean manufacturing, 6Sigma, and/or continuous improvement initiatives.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Sciences/Engineering, or relevant manufacturing/production experience preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of an office within the manufacturing floor. The first shift typically runs from 5:30 AM to 2:15 PM (8 hours) or 5:30 AM to 4:15 PM (10 hours), and the second shift runs from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (8 hours) or 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM (10 hours), with 10-hour shifts possible for three consecutive weeks. Both shifts are Monday to Friday. Supervisors oversee 20-25 employees on assigned assembly lines, managing schedules, time cards, vacations, and training. The dress code is business casual.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Easton, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Experience:
•\t5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
•\t3+ years of supervisory experience; in a union environment is a plus.
•\tExperience with managing employees within electro/mechanical product assembly and refrigeration experience is a plus.
•\tDemonstrated participation in lean manufacturing, 6Sigma, and/or continuous improvement initiatives.
•\tProficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
•\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
