Role Purpose

// The role is responsible for all RC Seed production operations in Ethiopia, which includes but not limited to:

Interpreting and executing the overall Country Corn Seed production strategyPlanning and Managing the operational and capital budgets for the countryManage relationships with Seed growers and third-party seed processing partners.Represent Ethiopia product supply in Country leadership team meetings and regional Product Supply cross functional meetings

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

// Management of field and tolling plant operations, including but not limited to:

Build a production team that meets production schedules and volume requirementsDesign and implement operational strategies to support business aspirations Timely implementation of crop plans across the country zonesDesign, implement and execute crop harvesting and delivery plans to ensure commitment to the business are timely executed and ensure zero missed sales.In collaboration with the EA RC Production Lead establish the toll processing network that meets the short- and long-term capacity needs. Manage the country operational and capital budget.Manage the in-country suppliers i.e., seed growers and seed processing tollers through annual contract negotiations and constant monitoring.Ensure HSE and Human rights compliance within all areas of production.Source and implement warehousing capacity for storage of non-finished and production consumables and ensure adequate security and appropriate warehouse policies and procedures are applied to avoid theft, materials deterioration and obsolesces Maintain the Bayer Quality Management System as set out by ISO9001Responsible for meeting the goals established for Seed Supply Reliability, Quality and Availability for the countryYou will act as a catalyst for change and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in the DSO ways of working Establish, assign, and review the personnel goals in the field and plant operation team.Identify personnel training needs and annually assess progress of people development, including a succession plan while maintaining continuous improvement cultureDevelop a risk mitigation strategy, including environmental analysis to ensure sustainable operations Act as Coach for the entire in-country product supply mission teams.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

// Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture engineering, Seed Technology, Production Engineering

// At least 10 years of experience in a similar field

// Prior experience in agricultural or seed industry is an added advantage

// Fluent in English

// SAP & MS Office packages

// Have good relationship and networking skills

// Of good temperament

// Ability to manage and motivate people
