Production Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fill & Pack Production Manager to join our manufacturing team in Grangemouth. Key responsibilities include;  

Driving operational excellence through strategic planning and process optimisation to safely, efficiently and consistently meet production targets in the Formulation Fill and Pack (FF&P) operation 

Leading process improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability, safety standards and production efficiency in F&P 

Mentoring and developing manufacturing technicians, building high-performing operations teams within F&P that deliver excellence consistently 

Championing world-class standards in Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), ensuring rigorous compliance with Syngenta's global protocols 

Fostering seamless cross-departmental collaboration through clear, timely communication 

Demonstrating decisive leadership in critical situations, swiftly escalating and resolving operational challenges

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing experience, exceptional people management skills and a proven track record of delivering operational excellence in a complex manufacturing environments.  This role offers significant scope for career progression within Syngenta's global operations network. 

 

Qualifications and required experience  

Mechanical/chemical engineering degree, or an appropriate level of applicable industrial experience in a technical role.  

Industrial experience in chemicals, pharmaceuticals and/or FMCG environment, with a process improvement focus. 

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, develop and influence positively team members who are not directly in reporting chain.  

Strong IT proficiency.  

Excellent and effective communication skills across all levels within the site/company.  

Excellent and effective collaboration abilities across all levels within the site/company.  

Automation or software driven plant knowledge/experience would be beneficial.

Site Details  

Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre is one of our two award-winning manufacturing sites in the UK. The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.  

At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and an existing finished product formulation and packaging plant, along with a new Seedcare plant currently under construction with a completion date in 2026.
