Production Mechanic is responsible for routine preventive maintenance along with troubleshooting and corrective maintenance of plant equipment, based on assigned areas of responsibility.

● Inspect, repair, and perform preventive maintenance of equipment, mechanical support systems, and process systems to ensure uninterrupted operation
● Dismantle, relocate, modify, maintain, align, overhaul, and install fixed and semi-fixed production machinery and equipment.
● Identify and report low performing or failing systems for pre-emptive corrective actions or upgrade suggestions.
● Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.)
● Work closely with group lead and supervisor, keeping them informed of maintenance activities, progress of jobs, issues and concerns
● Work with manufacturing departments to coordinate work as needed and must be responsive to critical manufacturing needs in a timely manner.
● Follow SOP, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, job plans and/or equipment manuals to perform work
● Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document work activities
● Adhere to cGMP, Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance procedures
● Assist with modification, installation and startup of new and existing instrumentation, process control systems and equipment
•Maintain site mechanical equipment to include but not limited to: pumps, rotating equipment, high purity piping, valves, WFI systems, filtration systems, chromatography columns, steam systems, heat exchangers and material handling. • Maintaining training curriculum requirements
• Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of cGMPs, FDA regulations, and industry guidelines.
• Able to perform basic fabricating, renovating, and welding parts using shop equipment.
• Able to perform basic repair and rebuild machinery or mechanical equipment.
• Basic knowledge of Building Automation Systems is a plus.
• Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Able to read and understand basic mechanical and electrical drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of safe and proper use of hand, power and measuring tools, as well as basic shop equipment.

• Must be flexible with working hours / shifts in order to accommodate the 24 hour, 7 day plant operation.
• May also be required to be on call, on a rotating basis.
Education:
Associates degree in a relevant technical field required
2 years of related hands-on experience in maintenance of manufacturing/production equipment preferably in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA regulated environment.
