Job Description:
**Job Overview**
Plans the sequence of actions, selects appropriate machines and materials, and determines the batch size and speed of the production equipment.
**Job Requirements**
Primary Equipment
+ Doosan SMX 2100 STB, 9-axis mill-turn with live tooling, Y-axis, sub-spindle, probing systems
Core Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate SMX equipment per setup sheets and work instructions- Load, verify, and run approved CNC programs; controlled prove-outs only- Install and qualify tooling, fixtures, work holding, and probes- Monitor cycle execution, spindle load, alarms, and tool wear- Apply offsets and tool wear compensation to maintain dimensional control- Perform in-process inspection and first-article verification- Document results per quality requirements- Support preventive maintenance, daily checks, and 5S- Escalate defects, downtime, and abnormal conditions with data
Measurement & Quality
+ Micrometers, bore gages, indicators, height gages, CMM hand tools; ability to hold ±0.001" and tighter
Preferred Qualifications
+ Direct experience on Doosan SMX platforms- Experience machining stainless steels, duplex, or nickel alloys- Familiarity with CAM-generated programs and simulation- Background in regulated or high-reliability industries (oil & gas, subsea, aerospace, defense)
Performance Expectations
+ High first-pass yield- Stable cycle times with minimal unplanned downtime- Zero safety violations- Clean shift handoffs and accurate documentation
Physical & Work Environment
+ Standing for extended periods; handling tooling and components within defined limits; working around high-speed rotating equipment and cutting fluids
**What your background should look like**
**Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Must be eligible to work under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance.
+ 5+ years CNC operation in production
+ Prior experience on multi-axis lathes or mill-turn machines (7+ axis preferred)
+ Strong understanding of turning, milling, drilling, and live-tooling operations
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
+ Tooling and insert selection awareness
+ Tool life and wear management
+ Mechanical aptitude and disciplined process execution

**COMPENSATION**
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $62,400 – $73,216 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
