Drive all safety measures to ensure zero injuries (Safety Always First!).Develop manufacturing & Engineering strategies and identify areas for operational and process improvement, institute market leading best practices and drive cost out while maximizing quality and efficiency.Develop comprehensive manufacturing & engineering plans for existing and also the new products while meeting all safety, quality, throughput and cost targets in line with the operational strategies.Implement manufacturing & engineering tooling and automation to improve workplace safety, operator productivity and product quality. Partner with internal and external resources to develop automated and mistake proofed processes and equipment.Understand and implement the latest manufacturing & engineering processes by staying current and new technologies and researching options for facilities. Present to upper management the ROI for technology implementation.Represent manufacturing on R&D project core teams, taking ownership for deliverables, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring productivity and execution excellence.Manage by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, policies, and Core Values.Establish a world-class organization focused on manufacturing and engineering methods.Anticipate capacity requirements to support growth initiatives by identifying the need for additional capacity; evaluating manufacturing options; establishing flexible work forces; recommending expansion of current facilities or additional facilities.Follow the Product Development Process, preparing the manufacturing site for each build, from concept to new product launch.Develop PFMEAs, Control Plans, Capability Studies, and other process qualification/validation activities with cross-functional teams.Leverage Subject Matter Experts during problem solving exercises. Provide multiple what-if scenarios to find the best total cost solution with financial impacts and emphasis on delivery timelines.Partner with Quality/Regulatory Affairs (RA)/Research and Development (R&D) to ensure the most effective approaches for manufacturing to support design controls, technical transfer, improvement to products and execution of the quality system.Develop and maintain robust engineering processes to ensure regulatory compliance.Produce products that meet customer expectations by formulating, installing, and enforcing good manufacturing practices.Develop and improve production and engineering processes, procedures, methods, and techniques with CI team.Design production planning, control systems and procedures with Material & Logistic (M&L) team.Enforce inspection and quality assurance standards, procedures, and methods with quality team.Lead the new product design transfer activities to ensure all the new processes and manufacturing methods were fully validated and verified to meet the series production requirement.Fulfill all manufacturing financial commitments in the new product development or production line transfer business case, including OPEX, CAPA and product cost.Lead engineering activities to solve technical issues on the production floor and in the field.Access, develop and implement economical, repeatable manufacturing process and /or new equipment for new and existing products.Drive manufacturing collaboration with design engineers through PDFMA, DFx and other risk management tools to ensure manufacturability, effective cost and high level of quality.Engage activities to solve product quality and production issues, implement engineering change notices (ECN) and complete process validation.Responsible for work instructions (WI), job instructions, labor standards, routing and line balance to meet required production rates.Assist plant manager to drive overall efficiency improvements in site operation.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. International business experiences preferred.Demonstrated knowledge & abilities in all manufacturing operations - process flow, materials resource planning, purchasing, logistics, quality assurance, SOPs, planning & scheduling safety & manpower to meet sales/production goals.Demonstrated success in building a new product line and knowledge transfer. Project Management expertise and product transfer experience are a must.Demonstrated leadership skills to drive changes in organizational structure and culture.Demonstrated experience in applying 6s, CI / lean tools to drive performance.Ability to generate alternative solutions to problems or processes.Energetic, outgoing and excited about growing the business.Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interact with other functional groups, employees and outside vendors.Hand on experience in ERP system. Experience in SAP is preferred.Must have excellent communication skills to work with teams and employees of all levels within the organizationFluent in English and Mandarin.Include the education and experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certificate required.10+ years of management experience.15+ years relevant global manufacturing experience in regulated industry including plant management, production & engineering management and cost management/reduction.
