Responsibilities:
Contribute to our J20-Journey to Zero safety culture while adhering to all health and safety standards, policies, procedures and legislation.Ensure the operation of the long-hole platform for mine stopping in a safe and efficient manner. Avoid over-drilling and under-drilling and work in accordance with the standards, development and geotechnical plans. Follow the markings in accordance with geological, regulatory and surveying specifications. Install mining services if necessary.Work with the technical team and the supervisory team to achieve the quality and adequate safety standards related to the operations. Ensure that the end-of-shift report is updated.Work according to the instructions of the Shift Supervisor in accordance with the daily division of duties. Work within ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.Qualification Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Drilling Machinery Competency Certification.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
Proven experience operating Sandvik DL422i or similar longhole production drills (DL421 / DL431 considered)
Minimum 2–5 years underground hard-rock mining experience, with demonstrated longhole production drilling exposure
Competent solo operation, including setup, drilling, tramming, shutdown, and end-of-shift reporting
Strong ability to interpret drill designs, ring patterns, and hole plans
Experience adjusting drilling parameters to suit ground conditions and achieve quality outcomes
Familiarity with i-Series drill control systems, automation features, and digital drill plans
Strong focus on safety compliance, hazard identification, and procedural adherence
Ability to complete pre-start inspections, routine checks, and identify mechanical or performance issues
Effective communication with supervisors, engineers, survey, and maintenance teams
Ability to meet production targets while maintaining drill accuracy and hole quality
Comfortable working independently on shift with minimal supervision
Willingness to work rotating rosters and underground shift environments
