**Responsibilities**
+ Supports TYAD's sustainment mission which may include design, fabrication, repair and overhaul of hundreds of electronic systems. Items may include satellite terminals, radio and radar systems, telephones, electro-optics, night vision and anti-intrusion devices, airborne surveillance equipment, navigational instruments, electronic warfare, and guidance and control systems for tactical missiles.
+ Includes development of new prototype C-E systems or downsizing of existing systems.
+ Schedules and reschedules work orders; implements daily, weekly and monthly production schedules in assigned production shops; communicates daily and weekly schedule requirements from the Master Scheduler to the shop supervisor; creates the capacity plan that provides the basis for the preparation of the Master Schedule; and is responsible for the development of the commodity-focused (division) preliminary schedule.
+ Subject position is responsible for keeping the lines of communication open between the shop floor and the Commodity Workload Management Divisions.
+ The Production Controller may function in an asset management role or a capacity management role or both.
+ Work for the most part is sedentary with no special physical demands. It may involve some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
+ Requires extensive knowledge of the Depot's production mission, organization and standard production methods and procedures, manpower and material requirements in order to perform weekly and daily planning tasks such as performing manufacturing process planning for production work centers.
+ Knowledge, understanding, and use of product and manufacturing terminology, data, and standards and how to relate them properly to new projects, and knowledge and experience to observe and analyze production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, if they can be improved, and to determine the causes of production delays.
+ Knowledge of preplanning phases and immediate production control phases (asset management) which require close and extensive coordination with support organizations whenever problems or changes occur, and target dates draw closer.
+ Knowledge of execution phases and work center management (capacity management) to coordinate with support organizations whenever problems or changes occur, and target dates draw closer.
+ Knowledge of the products of the assigned production shop to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data and processes to support workload.
+ Knowledge and the ability to use automated systems, e.g., LMP, to successfully manage the production plan – including capacity management tools to facilitate production accomplishment.
+ Extensive knowledge of the capacity, skill level and manpower staffing of assigned shop, to schedule and monitor production progress, continued availability of components, and to react to unexpected defects to ensure production schedules are accomplished in a timely manner.
+ Knowledge and experience in the recurring fabrication, overhaul, or repair of products or projects using multiple process production methods and procedures to develop information necessary for the control of a complex electronics products, e.g., numerous skilled trades utilizing a variety of general purpose and specialized machines, tools, equipment, and material to fabricate, re-fabrication, or overhaul and assemble products.
+ Work is normally in an office that involves everyday risks or discomforts which require the normal safety precautions. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Visits to production areas are frequent and relatively free of hazards to the employee.
**Qualifications**
+ Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a Public Trust background check.
+ Must be able to pass a Drug test prior to start.
+ Minimum of 1 year doing Production Controller work.
+ Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions.
+ Must be computer literate and able to function with basic MS Office applications, SAP programs, research, data input, etc.
**Physical Demands:**
+ Must be able to frequently lift and carry equipment that weighs from 10 to 40 pounds.
+ May be required to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, earplugs, etc.
+ Must be willing to travel if needed (up to 25%).
+ Must be able to work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require him to standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
