Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Production Control Specialist to oversee daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you coordinate material flow, support warehouse activities, and collaborate closely with production, purchasing, and carriers to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise inbound and outbound logistics activities and provide day-to-day support to warehouse team members.Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate order processing.Ensure accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and effective inventory control practices.Monitor and maintain efficient material flow between warehouse, production, and shipping areas.Coordinate closely with production teams to align material availability with production schedules.Collaborate with purchasing to ensure materials and supplies arrive on time and in the correct quantities.Communicate and coordinate with carriers and freight providers to schedule and track shipments.Maintain accurate data entry and documentation related to inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.Utilize Microsoft Excel, warehouse management tools, and ERP systems to track and report on inventory and logistics performance.Support customer service needs by ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule.Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards within the warehouse and production areas.Identify and resolve logistical and inventory-related issues using strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Collaborate with team members across departments and contribute to a culture of strong teamwork and continuous improvement.Essential Skills1–2 years of experience in logistics, production, warehousing, or manufacturing operations.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and inventory control processes.Experience with shipping and receiving operations and freight coordination.Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.High school diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.Experience with warehouse management practices and systems.Background in dispatch or coordinating shipments and carrier schedules.Customer service experience in a logistics, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.Interest in career advancement and ongoing skill development within operations or supply chain.Work Environment
This role operates in a combined office and manufacturing environment, working closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams. The position follows a single day shift schedule, with typical hours of either 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and collaboration. Standard office tools, Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and warehouse management tools are used regularly. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
