A top-tier team prioritizes safety, delivers exceptional quality, maintains high efficiency, and manages costs to ensure profitability._ _The Production Control department oversees the issuance and monitoring of work orders on the manufacturing floor using a kanban system, coordinates with external processors when needed, procures materials, and addresses customer concerns related to jobs. The team currently includes two members: one focused on issuing work orders and another handling material procurement and external processing. Key Department Goals: + Manage the creation and coordination of both digital and physical documentation needed to start and complete jobs, from PO approval to job closure. + Source materials and hardware for jobs, ensuring costs are correctly allocated. + Delegate tasks to external processors and ensure proper execution of those tasks. + Maintain a safe workplace by enhancing safety practices and solutions, while ensuring team accountability for safety protocols. + Prioritize and uphold quality standards in all departmental processes. + Keep the department workspace orderly, clean, and functional. + Monitor and manage departmental spending, guiding the team to make cost-effective decisions that boost profitability. + Support and implement relevant safety initiatives within the department. Core Responsibilities: + Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Drafting, Manufacturing, Shipping, Finance, and Install/Field Services to plan, monitor, and execute the production of job items, ensuring timeliness, quality, and cost efficiency. + Enhance the Production Control process and its integration with manufacturing to improve efficiency and speed. + Conduct quality reviews of digital and physical documentation required for accurate production. + Establish and monitor success metrics, guiding the team and others to meet these goals in a way that promotes growth. + Partner with departments and customers to resolve issues and meet project deadlines. + Work with Manufacturing, Sales, and Estimating to assess current and future capacity for approving new projects. + Develop and maintain standardized processes within the department to ensure consistency and sustainability. Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree is preferred. + Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field. + Project Management certification or degree is a plus. + Proficiency with basic computer tools, calculators, and weight scales; frequent use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment. + Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. + Highly adaptable with strong multitasking and prioritization skills. Physical Requirements: + Must be able to move freely, including bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and gripping items on a concrete surface. + Ability to read drawings, computer screens, and emails. + Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. + Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds. + May need to climb stairs occasionally. Work Environment: + Primarily office-based, with some time spent on the manufacturing floor. + The shop floor is not climate-controlled, can be dusty, confined, and includes potential trip hazards. + Involves interaction with team members and clients, both on-site and remotely. Work Schedule: + This is an exempt role, but punctuality is critical to its success. + The manager is expected to lead the daily huddle, being fully prepared and ready by 8:00 a.m. + Overtime and weekend work may be required based on workload and deadlines. + Flexible schedules or remote work may be permitted by the direct supervisor, provided it does not hinder company success. _Additional Responsibilities: This job description may evolve, with new duties added as needed.
