Production Control Associate - Digital Printing (Print Scheduler)
Target Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 6:00am-2:30pm.

RPI Print, Inc., a global leader in print-on demand, is currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Production Control Associate to join our digital printing team. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient scheduling of print jobs, optimizing machine usage, and meeting customer deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning, a strong understanding of digital printing workflows, and hands-on familiarity with HP Indigo and Canon Production Inkjet systems.\n

You will support the scheduling needs for multiple supervisors at our Rochester plant. This role is a key member of our Operations, functioning as a primary contact person for staff and supervisors on questions\/issues related to scheduling applications.\n

Duties\/Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop and maintain daily production schedules for digital print jobs, to meet customer demands and company objectives.\nCoordinate with production teams to prioritize jobs based on deadlines, materials, and machine availability\nManages incoming customer files to create even balance on press fleet and appropriate WIP levels for finishing departments to effectively produce and ship final product.\nMonitor job progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate rush orders, machine downtime, or other changes.\nEnsure optimal utilization of digital printing equipment and resources, including HP Indigo and Canon Production Inkjet presses.\nCommunicate proactively with internal teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure timely delivery.\nMaintain accurate records of job specifications, timelines, and production data.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling and workflow efficiency.\nTrack and report on production metrics, job status, and schedule adherence.\nPerforms research and analysis to understand the production process, the needs of clients, and the resources and workforce available, inclusive of trends and concerns.\nMaintains scheduling information daily.\nContinually update order progress in ERP system and adjust production schedules as needed for on-time deliveries. \nWork with planning, manufacturing, and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production scheduling problems. \n\n

Required Skills \/Abilities:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.\n2+ years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in a digital printing or manufacturing environment.\nHands-on experience with HP Indigo and Canon Production Inkjet print systems is preferred.\nProficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).\nFamiliarity with digital printing technologies and workflows.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.\nWorking knowledge of ERP system. \nHigh level of attention to details and numerically oriented. \nExcellent responsiveness and customer focus. \nMust be able to work overtime including weekends.\n\n

Preferred Skills \/Abilities:\n\nExperience with MIS or ERP systems used in print production (e.g., EFI, PrintSmith, Avanti).\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma.\nUnderstanding of prepress, finishing, and fulfillment processes.\nExperience in analytical reporting or managing dashboards is preferred.\n\n
