Production Control & Logistics Director
Job Summary:
Our client in Saginaw is looking for a PC&L Director. This is a Direct position.
What You Will Do:
Strategic and Operational LeadershipLead the end-to-end internal supply chain and material flow across all US Division plants, ensuring alignment with divisional and global PC&L strategies.Develop and execute a long-term vision and roadmap for transformation, considering both short-term and long-term goalsFoster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the team is equipped to adapt to changing business needs, with a strong focus on agility and readiness for the dynamic and rapidly evolving automotive market.Inventory OptimalizationOversee inventory management across all plants, ensuring alignment with Gap to JNI and Inventory Convergence targets.Continuous monitoring of the JNI (Just Need Inventory) process across all plants, including the implementation of convergence actions to meet JNI targets and systematically reduce the Gap to JNI.Take full accountability for meeting the regional inventory budget, actively monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions as needed (Inventory Call to Action)Act as a leader in inventory reduction initiatives, identifying and executing strategic projects aimed at optimizing stock levels.Collaborate closely with Purchasing and Sales teams to improve end-to-end supply chain visibility and responsiveness.Engage in the strategic use and optimization of bonded warehouses, ensuring compliance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with regional logistics strategies.Drive cross-functional alignment and continuous improvement efforts to enhance inventory accuracy, turnover, and working capital efficiency.Process improvementDrive the deployment of SOP acceleration initiatives to enhance production responsiveness and stability.Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of pull systems, line feeding, and lean material flow practices.Deploy and promote PC&L Client Production System standards across all regional plants.Lead the PC&L Alert Process deployment to proactively identify and resolve supply chain risks.Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across all PC&L functions.
Launch and Layout PlanningActively participate in new product launches and plant layout planning, enhancing the role of PC&L Advance in early-stage project integration.Ensure PC&L readiness and risk mitigation for all new programs.Actively engage in CPI process and Alert Management
Promote PC&L inside Sourcing with good, landed costs
Transportation and Cost EfficiencyManage regional transportation operations, driving cost optimization and service reliability.
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Transport Management System (TMS).
People and Performance ManagementProvide functional leadership to PC&L Managers across the region, including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, development, and innovation.
Monitor and improve team efficiency, structure, and process effectiveness.
Customer and Supplier CollaborationBuild and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and suppliers to ensure supply chain resilience and responsiveness.
Represent PC&L in cross-functional and customer-facing initiatives.
Budget and Financial AccountabilityDevelop and manage the PC&L budget, ensuring cost control across labor, materials, transportation, and inventory.
Drive financial performance through operational efficiency and strategic cost management.
Digitalization and AutomationDevelop and deploy the vision and strategy for AGV/AMR implementation across the region.Lead the deployment of Shopfloor PC&L Dashboard to enhance real-time visibility and decision-making.Drive PC&L digitalization initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate digital transformation goals.Lead the rollout of the new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration and adoption across all PC&L functions.
What You Will Need:
Basics:
Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operational Management or other related fieldsMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in PC&L regional optimization and leadership experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilitiesExperience collaborating with global teams and engaging across all organizational levelsProficiency in advanced logistics tools, warehouse management, and Just-in-Time inventory practicesKnowledge of CPI, FMEA, and quality management standardsExperience with MRP systems (QAD preferred) and customer portalsAdvanced MS Office skillsFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and basic financeAbility to lead training and drive cross-functional collaboration for optimal solutionsComposed and effective under pressure
