Role & responsibilities:

 

Lead the architecture and design of a next-generation cloud-based, fullstack SaaS platform for digitally delivered life insurance. Make key architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of the solution. Drive the development of scalable and secure backend systems using Node.js and modern architectural patterns. Provide frontend architecture guidance with TypeScript, React, or other modern JS frameworks. Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to design, develop, and deploy performant systems. Drive efficiency improvements across the SDLC — from system design (HLDs/LLDs) to CI/CD and code quality enforcement. Mentor and guide developers on fullstack architecture best practices, performance tuning, and clean code principles. Design data models and schemas, and develop integrations with 3rd party systems (REST, SOAP, XML/JSON). Work closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure high reliability, observability, and compliance (HIPAA, AWS stack).

 

Candidate requirements:

 

10+ years of hands-on development experience, primarily in backend (Node.js) and frontend technologies. Strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, with solid knowledge of React, Node.js, and REST/GraphQL APIs. Deep understanding of system design, microservices, and distributed systems. Practical experience designing and building secure, production-ready systems. Skilled in tools like Docker, CI/CD pipelines, profilers, APM tools, and AWS services (S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2, ECS). Experience working in SaaS-based architectures and cloud-native environments. Exposure to test-driven development and abstraction layer design. Strong collaboration and mentoring skills in a fast-paced, agile team environment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
