We are seeking a Product Sustainability Specialist to work within our in-house Product Sustainability team to assist in developing processes, tools, and technical expertise as well as perform life cycle assessment (LCA)/ Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) on our raw materials and products to support business growth. In addition, this role will have the opportunity to learn and apply state-of-the-art workflow digital tools to increase day-to-day work efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Model existing & new PPG’s raw materials for their LCA impacts and maintain PPG’s raw material LCA databaseConduct LCA modeling in SimaPro for products in SBU’s key growth areaCreate EPDs under PPG’s EPD process certification and routinely respond to customer’s EPD requestsCreate and Publish Health Product DeclarationContribute to the development of PPG’s next level EPD/LCA automation tools through Microsoft’s Power Platform toolsWork with other PS CoE teams on efficiency projects through developing customized efficiency tools using Microsoft’s Power Platform

Qualifications

Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical/environmental engineering or material science Previous experience preferred1-2 years of experience in the chemical industryStrong knowledge in coating chemistry and formulation, quantitative and qualitative analytical skillsFamiliarity with LCA concepts, tools and databases (e.g., SimaPro, Ecoinvent, etc.) and be comfortable with managing large amounts of chemical dataPays attention to details, work independently and on scheduleCan-do attitude, proactive and take ownership of projectsExcellent written and oral communication skills in EnglishFamiliarity with LCA standards & guidelines (e.g., Product Category Rules (PCRs), ISO 14040/44) is a plusQuick learner of new digital technology and data analytic tools. Experience in Microsoft Power Platform tools such as PowerBI and Power Automate is a plus
