You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in. Ferguson Industrial is seeking a **Product Specialist** to join our growing Industrial Plastics Division. This role supports our outside sales teams and drives growth in thermoplastic product solutions. We’re looking for a dynamic, technical expert to represent Ferguson’s full line of Industrial Thermoplastics offerings across North Carolina and Virginia. This is a customer-facing position that requires travel throughout the territory. Candidates should reside in, or be willing to travel regularly to, North Carolina or Virginia. A fuel card, auto allowance, travel/expense card, company phone, and laptop are provided. Travel will be required for sales support, training, and vendor engagement. **Responsibilities:** + Serve as the technical expert on Ferguson’s full line of thermoplastics products. + Support and train internal associates and outside sales teams to identify and develop thermoplastics applications for our customers. + Influence and drive thermoplastics sales and specifications with both new and existing customers. + Provide technical support and consultation to customers in industries such as Pulp & Paper, Power, Chemical Processing, Food & Beverage, Mining, and Marine/Shipyards. + Develop strong relationships with vendors and sales representatives to enhance Ferguson's value proposition. + Actively pursue and develop new business opportunities in collaboration with management. + Provide product quotations when needed, assist with problem resolution, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction from order to delivery. + Identify competition, contribute to sales strategy development, and communicate findings with management. + Continuously improve product knowledge and sales skills to maintain a professional presence in the market. + Work collaboratively to achieve or exceed budgeted sales goals. **Qualifications:** + Minimum 5 years of industry-related sales experience. + Strong technical knowledge in thermoplastics products, including HDPE, Polypropylene, Thermoplastic valves, Tanks, and Fusion equipment. + Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships. + A self-motivated individual with a track record of achieving results and staying organized. + Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. + Technologically proficient and able to quickly learn new systems. + A development mindset with the ability to think creatively about new product offerings.
