The Boeing CompanyBoeing Enterprise Product Security Engineering (PSE) is seeking a Product Security Engineering Workforce Senior Manager to lead workforce people and talent strategies focused on business performance aligned with PSE program goals. This role is located in Seattle, WA, Everett, WA, Berkeley, MO, or Oklahoma City, OK. This leader will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enable employees and PSE managers to successfully develop, implement, and sustain product security and resiliency throughout the product lifecycle—from requirements and design through production, operations, and support. The role includes developing and executing integrated plans aligned with business and technical strategies.
The selected leader will partner closely with PSE leadership, engineering managers, HR, and other functional partners to define and align strategies to “Attract, Develop, Deploy, and Retain” a highly skilled and motivated PSE workforce. This leader will drive process improvements, implement innovative strategies for employee development, and foster strong relationships with team members, customers, stakeholders, and partners. Additionally, the leader will be instrumental in fostering and improving manager acumen to strengthen leadership capabilities across the organization. A passion for people development, engagement, and operational excellence is essential.
Position Responsibilities:
Establish and execute staffing strategies and action plans to meet PSE business resource demands for near and long-term priorities, working closely with Workforce team colleagues and engaging with PSE leadership to attract, develop, deploy, and retain talent
Establish and deploy consistent workforce strategies, staffing processes, and plans—including external hiring approaches—in partnership with PSE leadership, Workforce team colleagues, managers responsible for program execution, and HR
Ensure alignment and deployment of best practices, such as early career hiring initiatives, selection of Boeing Designated Experts (BDE) and Technical Lead Engineers (TLE), technical mentoring programs, and technical skills development
Represent and advocate for workforce strategies and plans on behalf of Product Security Engineering leadership in various forums
Support regular engagements with PSE managers to ensure clear understanding of staffing and promotion processes
Lead retention and redeployment processes to optimize workforce utilization and meet business needs
Ensure comprehensive planning that includes sourcing strategies for Boeing employees, contract labor, and purchased services to meet near and long-term skilled workforce demands, while partnering with managers to maintain unified resource forecasting and staffing
Understand program needs and priorities to assist with the acquisition and utilization of PSE talent
Provide solutions and recommendations by interpreting, analyzing, and integrating relevant internal and external data and metrics
Develop and leverage key strategic relationships to actively participate in short and long-term business planning
Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, peers, and partners across the enterprise
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively through ambiguity as needed
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Knowledge of engineering leadership and functional processes
Proven ability to build relationships, influence others, and promote ideas with enthusiasm and assertiveness
Strong decision-making skills, resourcefulness, and accountability
5+ years of experience managing people, directly or indirectly
5+ years of experience partnering with senior or executive leadership
5+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects or initiatives
Strong operational and program management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in an engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience leading or managing engineering activities and collaborating with senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives
Experience with SPEEA processes and labor relations
Experience in product cybersecurity for avionics systems and component-level development
Experience performing threat analysis, security risk assessments, and maturing these analyses throughout the development lifecycle to inform requirements and design
Experience generating product cybersecurity artifacts for customers and certifiers
Proven ability to lead through influence and partner with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
Strong process management skills, including organizing work, documenting processes, identifying synergies, and simplifying complex workflows
Active DoD security clearance
