Job Title: Industrial Production Painter – 2nd/3rd Shift (Decatur, IL)

Location: Decatur, Illinois
Job Type: Supplemental (Full-Time, 40 hours/week)
Pay: Starting at $23.22/hour + $1.00/hour shift premium
Shifts Available:

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Job Summary

Join a world-class manufacturing team at Caterpillar Inc. as a Production Painter in Decatur, IL. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals with industrial painting experience who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to safety, quality, and teamwork. You’ll be responsible for applying coatings to heavy equipment components using HVLP and compliant spray systems, operating cranes and lifts, and ensuring top-tier finish quality.

Key Responsibilities

Apply paint using HVLP and compliant spray equipment to large components and assembliesOperate remote-controlled overhead cranes and lifts to position parts for paintingInspect, clean, test, and maintain spray guns and painting equipmentMix and maintain paint supply according to specificationsPerform basic computer operations to track work and materialsFollow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S principles

Basic Qualifications

Previous industrial painting experienceMechanical aptitude or background in industrial assemblyComfortable working at heights (up to 20 feet) on ladders and liftsStrong communication skills and commitment to safety and teamworkFamiliarity with hand and pneumatic toolsAbility to perform basic computer tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing or production environmentOverhead crane operation experienceForklift certificationAbility to read and interpret 2D/3D prints and imageryUnderstanding of 5S workplace organization principles
