Red Hat is looking for a Product Owner to act as the liaison between a cross-functional engineering team and its stakeholders. You will own and continuously adjust the product-delivery team backlog to react to both short-term business needs and the long-term vision in the area of virtualization and storage.

In this role you will be a member of the RHEL Engineering team responsible for understanding and helping to convey inputs from Product Management, Engineering Management, Support, and Upstream communities to the team. This position is a great opportunity to grow leadership skills while working alongside some of the brightest developers and stakeholders in the open source industry. This position is for a Hybrid position in Brno, and the associate is expected to be able to work with a remote, global team.

What you will do:

Take a leadership role in a cross-functional team by defining priorities, ensuring alignment with stakeholders, and driving execution for RHELAct as the primary point of contact between Product Management, Engineering, and similar roles to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.Define, own, and ruthlessly prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer issues, and strategic goalsDefine Acceptance Criteria and ensure that the team understands the “what” to work on.Proactively monitor community related (upstream) and product and services related (downstream) communication channels and act as a voice for the team.

What you will bring:

Intensive experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, preferably in an Agile or Scrum SW Engineering environmentExperience working effectively with a distributed, international teamStrength in prioritizing development and test work while managing product management expectationsAbility to resolve conflicting priorities and communicate key insights from multiple sources (e.g., product feedback, technical discussions, community input) to stakeholders and engineering teamsKnowledge of RHEL kernel and userspace code relating to virtualization and storage is a big plusSolid communication, prioritization, presentation, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal skills in EnglishExperience with tools as Jira or GitHub/ GitLabExposure to virtualization/cloud platforms like VMware, KVM i a plus
