Product Owner for User Activation

The Position

As part of the Patient Insights Chapter in the Roche Information Solutions organization, you will be part of diverse and talented people who share a passion for building products to help people with chronic diseases do what they love instead of what their condition requires them to do. We are looking for a product owner with expertise in cloud software and mobile app development who is able to manage the product development roadmap, gather business requirements, understand customer needs, and transform them into user stories to be built by the development team. This person needs to be able to inspire and lead the team to deliver value for the user and the business, collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization, and be accountable for the product or feature delivery. 

Your initial position will be in the Accu-Chek Care product within the Activation Stream. The objective of this stream is to increase the activation rate in the product by ensuring users quickly experience the product’s value and are onboarded without any problems. 

Responsibilities:

Understands the product outcome and benefits to customers, to the market, to the business. Also the agile development processes and the organization's way of working.

Work with business product management, researchers, and technical leads in a Discovery team. Gather functional requirements and conceptualize features that meet customer needs. Ensure non-functional requirements are taken into consideration as well. 

Leads the product definition in collaboration with the discovery team, including other relevant inputs that may affect the scope of the product (medical affairs, data security, data privacy and legal). 

Owns the team product backlog, refinement and prioritization of user stories, ensuring the product backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all. 

Approves product increments on sprint reviews and acceptance of final iteration plan.

Accountable for the definition of done as well as the acceptance.

Responsible for the team vision, product roadmap and release plan, in close collaboration with other relevant teams and the Agile Release Train. 

Coordinates dependencies between teams and other product owners, external partners, and shared service interfaces both inside and outside of R&D

Communication and conflict management directly with stakeholders. 

Requirements:

+5 years of experience in product management roles, product roadmap strategies and backlog management for large products.

Technical background to be able to successfully interact with the development teams, understand trade-offs and exercise independent judgment and decision-making responsibilities. 

Demonstrated successful delivery across full product life cycles, from concept to marketable products in iterations, including design transfers to support and launch readiness.

Experience in working with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and scaled agile frameworks (e.g. SAFe, Spotify). SAFe certification is a plus.

Good communication skills, excellent team collaboration, and decision-making ability.

Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment, being able to adapt quickly, and provide support during the change management process

Strategic and analytical thinking, creative problem solving skills.

Experience in the healthcare sector and managing medical device products is a plus

Education:

MS or BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

Languages:

English (other languages like Spanish, German are a plus)
