Building on this foundation, the Product Owner will then lead the innovation and transformation phase, guiding the redesign and implementation of future-state care environment utilization assessments and care delivery models across the enterprise. As the bridge between executive leaders and business leaders, the Product Owner translates organizational priorities into a clear roadmap, product backlog, and measurable outcomes. The role ensures alignment with HCA’s Clinical AI value drivers—improving patient safety, increasing care efficiency, and maximizing the value of clinical resources. Aligned with HCA’s Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) mission, this role is accountable for delivering both the strategy and transformation necessary to standardize and scale care environments intelligence products—enabling executive visibility into the utilization and related information to Senior, Group, Division, and Hospital executive leaders, reliable transparency and monitoring of insights, reduced clinical operations variation, and better outcomes for patients and clinicians alike. **What you will do in this role:** **Product Vision and Strategy** + Develop and communicate a clear product vision for care environments intelligence that begins with enterprise strategy development and evolves into innovation and transformation delivery. + Define product strategy and roadmap, ensuring timely product features and updates delivery. + Manage dependencies with other teams’ functions while identifying, building and managing strategic partnerships across the different teams (including business, DT&I Share Services, and ITG) and ensure alignment across use case/data product roadmaps. + Oversee the development and implementation of the product, ensuring it adheres to the defined vision and goals, including the development of reusable, modular components (i.e., limited one-off or “tech-debt” code). + Work with the Domain Leader and Product AVP to set aspirational and achievable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs); regularly adjust product strategy and pod direction based on OKR attainment. **Backlog Management** + Create, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog (backlog grooming) that aligns with business goals and progress towards sprint goals and quarterly targets / OKRs. + Ensure user stories and requirements are clearly articulated, reflecting telemetry workflow needs, vendor ecosystem assessments, baseline metric requirements, and adoption activities. + Work with the Tech Lead and other engineers to estimate the level of effort for each user story. + Continuously refine and adjust the backlog to meet changing priorities and new insights. **Stakeholder Collaboration** + Engage with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders (e.g., Operational Executive Leaders, Clinical Leadership, ITG, and vendors) to gather requirements, validate findings, and ensure alignment with the Care Environments Intelligence strategy. + Escalate and unblock any pod members' dependencies/needs. Facilitate communication between pod members and other teams or shared services. + Serve as the primary point of contact for all product-related queries and decisions. + Act as the “voice of the customer” within the pod to ensure the right thing is built. **Agile Process Participation** + Participate in Sprint and Quarterly Planning, Retrospectives, Demos, and Stand-Ups to ensure smooth execution of product development. + Prioritize user stories and their completion by each sprint to achieve OKRs. + Lead Sprint Planning, Sprint Demo, and Sprint Retrospective in collaboration with the Scrum Master. + Ensure product increments are delivered on time and meet the defined acceptance criteria. + Track product performance and use data to inform decisions and future iterations. + Ensure sprint outputs include telemetry-specific deliverables such as vendor analysis, workflow maps, baseline metrics, and transformation recommendations. + Deliver telemetry optimization artifacts, including baseline metric packs, vendor comparison matrices, site-level value models, and workflow maps. + Support the Product AVP in the development of the Care Environments Intelligence Charter and associated business case(s). + Support execution of innovation and adoption initiatives that improve patient safety, clinician efficiency, and resource utilization. **What qualifications you will need:** + Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or other related fields - Required + Master's degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field - Preferred + 7+ years of experience in healthcare operations, clinical informatics, or digital health transformation, with demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale initiatives that bridge clinical, technical, and operational teams - Required + 3+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management or a related business role - Preferred + Prior experience delivering digital products or enterprise transformation initiatives in healthcare, preferably involving clinical monitoring, patient safety, or workflow redesign - Preferred + Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and skillsets to fulfill a complex and aspirational business objective - Required + Certified Scrum Product Owner or similar Agile certification – Preferred **Work Location/Schedule:** + Nashville, TN area (near Centennial Park) + Onsite: M-F, 8am – 5pm **Travel Required:** + This job may require up to 25% travel **Visa Sponsorship:** + Not offered, now or in the future "Good people beget good people."- Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. HCA Healthcare Co-Founder We are a family 270,000 dedicated professionals!
