Product Owner
Description Position Summary The client is seeking a high level Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of its Legal Operations and Rights Management platforms. This role will be responsible for establishing and evolving systems that support legal operations, electronic billing, and content rights tracking. The Product Owner will help stabilize any inherited platforms and play a key role in evaluating and implementing new solutions to support the client's legal and content distribution teams. This role will partner closely with legal operations, content licensing, and finance stakeholders to ensure platforms are integrated, scalable, and aligned with business and compliance needs. Key Responsibilities • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for legal operations and rights management platforms, including: • Electronic billing (ebilling) systems used to manage revenue streams such as advertising, subscriptions, and content licensing. These platforms support invoice generation, recurring billing, payment tracking, and integration with CRM or ERP systems. Experience with media-focused platforms such as Chargebee, Zuora, Recurly, or BillingPlatform is highly relevant. • Rights management platforms (e.g., Rightsline, FilmTrack) – please note that digital rights management is not synonymous with rights management • Content operations management (COM) tools that support licensing workflows, rights tracking, and distribution compliance. This does not include DAM or CMS platforms. • Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with the client’s destination architecture and operational strategy. • Collaborate with legal ops, content, finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless platform integrations and user experience. • Establish and document new workflows, processes, and SOPs for a greenfield organization. • Prioritize product backlogs, write user stories, and lead agile ceremonies to drive iterative development. • Ensure platforms support accurate rights tracking, billing workflows, and compliance with licensing agreements. Qualifications • Minimum 6 years of experience in product management or product ownership, with at least 3 years focused on legal operations, rights management, or media billing systems. • Proven experience owning entire platforms or systems, not just individual features. • Hands-on experience with ebilling platforms used to manage media revenue streams (advertising, subscriptions, licensing). • Experience with rights management or licensing systems in media and entertainment. • Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and build structure from the ground up. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with either would be a plus Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $90.00/hr.
