Product Owner
Description Position Summary The client is seeking a high level Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of core systems supporting its Digital Ad Sales operations. This role is part of the foundational product team responsible for standing up the client’s ad tech infrastructure, inheriting select systems from the client, and building new processes and platforms tailored to the client’s future-state architecture. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience owning full-scale ad tech platforms and a strong understanding of digital ad operations, trafficking, and scheduling. This role will play a critical part in enabling the client’s digital advertising capabilities across owned and operated endpoints, while collaborating closely with stakeholders across Ad Sales, Engineering, and other business units. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary product owner for digital ad sales platforms, including: • Freewheel • Google Ad Manager (GAM) • Promo optimization tools • Display ad trafficking and scheduling systems • Media planning platforms • Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) • Lead the intake, stabilization, and evolution of inherited systems from the client. • Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with the client’s destination architecture and long-term strategy. • Collaborate with engineering, ad operations, sales, and external vendors to ensure seamless platform transitions and integrations. • Establish and document new workflows, processes, and SOPs for a greenfield organization. • Prioritize product backlogs, write user stories, and lead agile ceremonies to drive iterative development. • Partner with cross-functional teams, including data and marketing stakeholders, to ensure alignment with broader business objectives. Qualifications • Minimum 6 years of experience in product management or product ownership, with at least 3 years focused on digital ad tech. • Demonstrated experience owning entire platforms or systems, not just individual features. • Strong familiarity with ad serving, trafficking, and scheduling workflows. • Hands-on experience with Freewheel, GAM, and DAI is highly preferred. • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and build structure from the ground up. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Creating automation tools to streamline workflows (e.g., proposal generation, campaign comparison). Ensuring data accuracy and system reliability across platforms. Display Side of Ads: This is the customer-facing or sales-facing side of advertising. It includes: Planning and selling ad campaigns to clients. Trafficking ads—deciding when and where ads will appear. Using platforms like Google Ad Manager (GAM) and FreeWheel to manage digital ad placements.
