We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our fast-paced, culture-first marketing team—someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, embraces change, and is passionate about driving impactful campaigns in the ever-evolving technology landscape.
As a member of the Cisco Networking Product Marketing team you will partner across Cisco’s larger marketing organization, primarily with the Integrated Marketing team, the Business Unit, and the Global and Technical Sales Teams to execute against our global strategy. Our team is focused on products and solutions aimed at communications service providers (CSPs), but we also address Enterprise customers looking to offer managed services, and/or build Enterprise networks for their own business.
**Your Impact**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Marketing Manager to join our team, focusing on IP Routing and Switching products and solutions, including the Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers (ASR) and Cisco 8000 Series Routers.
This role is critical in driving the marketing strategies and initiatives that highlight our innovative networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product marketing within the tech industry, with specific experience in IP networking products, routed optical networking (RON), and/or routed passive optical networking (RPON). A bonus would be experience dealing with communications service providers (CSPs), hyperscalers, webscalers, public sector, or government services.
**Key Responsibilities**
Market Analysis & Strategy Development: Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive product awareness and adoption.
Product Positioning & Messaging: Craft compelling product messaging and positioning that differentiates our IP Routing and Switching solutions in the market. Ensure consistency across all marketing channels and materials.
Go-to-Market Planning: Lead the development and execution of go-to-market plans, including product launches, promotions, and sales enablement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful product rollouts.
Content Creation & Management: Develop and oversee the creation of marketing collateral, including brochures, case studies, white papers, and digital content. Work closely with content creators to ensure high-quality outputs.
Sales Enablement: Equip the sales team with the necessary tools and training to effectively sell IP Routing and Switching products. Develop and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns (working closely with Integrated Marketing), providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders. Use data-driven approaches to optimize strategies and achieve business objectives.
Trade Shows & Events: Build and deliver compelling product and solution demos for use at industry trade shows and events.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or product management, with a focus on networking products, specifically IP Routing and Switching.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be good (exceptional) at multitasking
Knowledge: Deep understanding of the IP networking market, including customer needs, technological advancements, and competitive dynamics.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
