We are seeking a passionate Product Manager to champion our products, optimize operations, and revolutionize market engagement. About the role The Product Manager will be responsible for increasing the profitability of existing product lines and developing new products for the Measurement & Verification (Metering) product line in the Lighting & Controls business unit. This includes managing new product projects from existing ideas, helping to develop new ideas based on experience and interaction with customers, spending time in the market to understand problems, and finding innovative solutions for the broader market, managing the pricing, inventory, and other day to day responsibilities. Responsibilities Innovative Product Management: Own and elevate the performance of existing product lines, ensuring maximum profitability and market relevance. Drive new product projects from conception to delivery, leveraging customer insights and market analysis to develop groundbreaking product ideas. Strategic Vision and Execution: Develop and recommend product strategies, crafting a visionary 3-5 year roadmap to guide our product portfolio evolution. Champion research and analysis for new product development, collaborating on essential project deliverables and collecting valuable customer feedback. Cross-functional Leadership: Lead project teams, providing direction and expertise in product development and maintenance processes. Collaborate closely with multiple teams, including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, to ensure seamless execution and integration of product strategies. Customer-Centric Approach: Immerse yourself in the market, conducting customer visits, and gathering market intelligence to identify challenges and innovative solutions. Qualifications Strategic Mindset: Exceptional ability to analyze product performance, profitability, and market dynamics to make informed strategic decisions. Strong mathematical and analytical skills to drive data-driven insights and decisions. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in presenting to diverse audiences. Ability to cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships and collaborate effectively across teams. Technological Proficiency: Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and a knack for quickly adapting to complex enterprise applications. Thrives in a fast past environment with multiple completing demands Experience with product line management throughout the entire life cycle Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Experience presenting to groups of managers, employees, and the general public Must be self-reliant and possess excellent oral and written communication Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality Must apply critical thinking skills to determine best approach to bring new products to market and to work with engineering, operations and marketing and sales staffs Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with customers Ability to organize and manage project teams to support the development of business opportunities and execute business decisions Ability to work in a highly confidential work environment; and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Strong mathematical, analytical and computer skills Capable of travel to attend meetings or visit customers A highly developed level of creative skills and resourcefulness is required Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office tools Excellent time management skills Education & Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business field is required. A Master’s degree is a plus. Preference given to individuals with Measurement & Verification (sub-metering) experience. 3 to 5 years of proven experience in Product Management within Lighting, Controls, Measurement & Verification, related software, or a related technical field. Travel Travel: Up to 25% travel expected for customer visits and market research.
