Job Description: Product Owner, Events & Social Technology

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Product Owner to lead our Events and Social Technology stack. This role blends marketing and technology, requiring a unique blend of expertise in both domains with a specific focus on our event management and social media engagement ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning these key marketing technologies from planning and implementation through ongoing optimization, with a clear focus on leveraging AI to drive efficiency and enhance our engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning:

Lead the planning, development, and implementation of our events and social media technology solutions.

Define and prioritize the product backlog for the events and social technology stack, with a core focus on platforms including Cvent, Sprout Social, and Everyone Social.

Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for this ecosystem, ensuring tight integration with our broader marketing technology landscape.

Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly AI applications for event management, social listening, content creation, and employee advocacy.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and AI-powered tools to improve event experiences, amplify our social presence, and increase operational efficiency.

Events & Social Technology Management:

Collaborate with event marketing, corporate communications, and social media teams to identify technology needs and strategic opportunities.

Gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into clear, actionable user stories for our development teams and vendor partners.

Oversee the management and optimization of Cvent to support the full event lifecycle, from registration and attendee management to virtual/hybrid experiences and post-event analytics.

Manage Sprout Social to enable best-in-class social media publishing, community management, advanced listening, and performance analytics.

Drive our employee advocacy strategy through the management and growth of the Everyone Social platform.

Actively seek and implement AI features to improve effectiveness, such as AI-powered social listening for trend analysis, generative AI for social copy, and AI-driven recommendations for event attendees.

Manage user roles, permissions, and licenses across the events and social technology stack.

Ensure data integrity and consistent data flows between platforms (e.g., Cvent to CRM).

Manage relationships with vendors and technology partners, staying current on their product roadmaps and advocating for JLL's strategic needs.

Documentation & Training:

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for our event and social media systems and processes.

Provide technical guidance, training, and best practices on our core platforms to the marketing and communications teams.

Champion the effective and ethical use of AI in social media and event marketing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.

5-10 years of experience in marketing technology, with direct experience managing event technology or social media management platforms.

Strong understanding of corporate event marketing principles and modern social media strategies.

Direct proficiency with enterprise-level platforms such as Cvent, Sprout Social, or similar event management and social media tools.

A strong interest and understanding of AI and machine learning applications in social media and marketing.

Experience with system integrations, particularly connecting event or social platforms to CRM and marketing automation systems.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights from social and event data.

Strong project management abilities.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical marketing and events stakeholders.

Proficient in building technical user stories for developers and vendors.

Key Competencies:

Strategic thinking and the ability to align technology solutions with event and communication objectives.

Adaptability and a passion for learning new technologies, especially in the fast-moving social and AI space.

Strong attention to detail regarding data quality, user experience, and brand consistency.

A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems to improve efficiency and results.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field.

Certifications in Cvent, Sprout Social, or other relevant marketing technologies (e.g., Agile).

Experience with employee advocacy programs and platforms like Everyone Social.

Knowledge of social listening analytics and reporting beyond standard platform metrics.
