A large tech company is hiring for an Engineering Project Specialist to be based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
About the Role
Join a team supporting multiple high-impact programs focused on launching advanced hardware and satellite-enabled connectivity solutions. This role centers on the customer terminal portion of the product line—rooftop devices enabling satellite communication, similar to other leading satellite internet technologies. You’ll be a key stakeholder in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring product development phases are well-defined and organized. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and third-party suppliers to manage materials and build planning.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Support different programs with BOM management in PLM tools (Agile, Windchill)Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and suppliersCreate and structure Bill of Materials (BOMs) for new hardware builds and prototype variationsWrite and track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in PLM systemsManage BOM changes and part number creationCommunicate new part numbers to internal teams and contract manufacturersSupport device build planning, hardware configuration, and prototype buildsPartner with product development teams and suppliers on BOM/material managementRequired Skills
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (Agile, Windchill)BOM creation and management, especially for consumer electronics, aerospace, or hardwareSystem/device build planning and cross-functional collaborationAdvanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)Hardware configuration experienceExperience in consumer electronics, aerospace, or hardware environmentsBackground in device building or bill matrices for prototype variations4-6+ years of experience in the above areasAdditional Requirements
Must be a U.S. person (citizen or permanent resident)Ability to work on-site during core business hours (Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week)Occasional evening collaboration with suppliers in Asia may be requiredResponsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open, collaborative environmentJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
