Job Title: Product Expert

Purpose and Objective:   

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Product Expert at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for the success, quality, cost management and delivery of a product, product group or complex project in the whole product lifecycle as defined in the portfolio.  

 

Expectations and Tasks:  

Contribute to the efficiency, effectiveness and improvement of processes used in own area. Monitor market tendencies and technology trends. Analyze technology trends and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities for SAP. Contribute to business case, develop and drive a product vision and a product roadmap. Constantly evaluate competitive products on basis of publicly available information to ensure the product is on-par or competitive in the current market. Ensure customer input into all product definitions.  Provide holistic overview on overall product backlog and ensure Product team and related Scrum teams have a comprehensive understanding of the product backlog.  Ensure a rollout plan is already in place and also a near horizon and long-term view on the product. Drive holistic product vision and product design and ensure all product teams have a comprehensive understanding of it. Accept or reject sprint results on a Scrum of Scrum level. Ensure creation of product-related non-coded assets in close cooperation with central teams in Release Management, Production, and Governance. Collect and incorporate early feedback from customers and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure both the internal stakeholders and external ecosystem is aware of the developments by working closely with stakeholders and customer groups. Actively follow and share developments and trends regarding new SAP and complimentary partner service and solution offerings, industry trends and other topic areas relevant for the respective domain.  

 

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, UI Design, Geo Physics, Engineering, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, UI Design, Geo Physics, Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must involve five (5) years in the following: 

Oil & Gas Industry processes and SAP Oil & Gas Best Practices; 

Oil & Gas industry - SAP ECC implementations, SAP S/4 HANA implementation, and delivery of SAP model company services;  

Designing and development of IS-OIL applications using ABAP, Webdynpro ABAP and FIORI; and 

SAP project methodologies - Waterfall model, Agile and SAP Activate. 

Experience must involve four (4) years in the following: 

Conducting Business Blue print Reviews, Business process validations, Go-live support for Oil & Gas customers;  

Preparing of test scripts and test schedules for end user tests and system Integration tests; and 

Building, integrating, and extending SAP solutions using SAP Cloud platform services. 

 

Travel: Position requires up to 20% domestic or international travel to various and unanticipated client sites.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $194,792 - $268,222. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $194,792 - $327,100. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
