**Introduction** **Your role and responsibilities** Product Engineering Program Manager, IBM Corporation, Poughkeepsie, NY * Guide program management, development, and testing to deliver a functioning ESP product, with manageable restrictions. * Document key deficiencies for internal clients, providing workarounds where necessary. * Engage in critical client situations to explain corrective actions and delivery mechanisms. * Consult with clients, listen to their needs, and guide them on recommended firmware levels and best practices. * Maintain and release driver exception letters for both customer publications and second version only for internal support. * Review and challenge questionable requests, rejecting those that are off-spec or risky for clients or quality, while negotiating improved conditions. * Work in short ship handling by reviewing and signing off on compliance issues for certain countries. * Represent and share product engineering and client issues at executive reviews and with Product Engineering Management. * Participate in lessons learned and next-generation quality initiatives. * Deliver and release field-found defect reports and advise on development priorities needing the greatest focus and attention. * Utilize: Mainframe Hardware Products, Firmware/Microcode Test and Delivery process, Complex System Failures Analysis, Early Ship Product (ESP) management, Mainframe Generation cycle Program Management.
