The Engineer will be responsible for the selection, installation, setup, maintenance, and optimization of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance while supporting quality and yield improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Equipment Management Oversee the installation, setup, calibration, and maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend tool life. • • Process Optimization Analyze equipment performance data, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and yield. • Collaborate with process engineers to optimize equipment settings and parameters for semiconductor fabrication. • • Setup and Configuration Ensure proper setup and configuration of equipment for new product introductions and process changes. • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment setup and operation. • • Tool Life Management Monitor and analyze tool life to ensure optimal performance and longevity of semiconductor manufacturing tools. • Implement strategies for tool maintenance and replacement based on tool life data. • • Tool and Die Design Experience Apply knowledge of tool and die design principles to improve equipment functionality and performance. • • Collaborate with design teams to ensure equipment meets design rules and specifications. • • Troubleshooting and Support Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and operational issues. • Provide technical support to production teams to ensure smooth operations. • • Documentation and Compliance Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs. • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. • • Collaboration and Training Work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to support new product introductions and process changes. • Train operators and technicians on proper equipment setup, operation, and maintenance procedures. • • Project Management Participate in equipment selection and procurement processes for new manufacturing equipment. • Lead or support equipment-related projects to enhance production capabilities and efficiency. • Qualifications • Education Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • • Experience 3+ years of experience in equipment engineering or related roles within the semiconductor industry, with specific experience in tool and die design. • • Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and technologies. • Familiarity with equipment maintenance methodologies, including preventive and predictive maintenance, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Six Sigma. • • Performance Metrics Develop and monitor KPIs related to equipment performance, including OEE, uptime, yield, and maintenance effectiveness. • • Analytical Skills Proficient in data analysis techniques to drive equipment improvement initiatives. • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis methodologies.
